Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you useReactionTime. The short version: the tests run entirely in your browser, we don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect personal information ourselves. The detail below covers local storage and the third-party services we may use.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no fields asking for your name, email or any other identifying detail on the tests themselves. We cannot see your test results.

If you email us, we receive whatever you put in that message — your email address and its contents — and use it only to reply to you.

Local storage on your device

The tests use your browser's local storage to remember two kinds of thing, both of which stay on your own device and are never sent to us:

• Your best score for each test, so it survives a page reload.
• Your theme preference (light or dark), so the site looks the way you left it.

This is not tracking — it's the same mechanism a settings panel uses. You can clear it any time through your browser's "clear site data" or "clear browsing data" controls, and doing so simply resets your saved bests and theme.

Cookies

The site itself does not set cookies to identify or track you. If we introduce the analytics or advertising services described below, those services may set their own cookies or use similar technologies. Where that's the case, you'll be able to manage them through your browser settings and, where required, through a consent prompt.

Analytics

We may use a privacy-conscious analytics service (for example, Google Analytics or a similar tool) to understand aggregate, anonymous usage — which tests are popular and roughly where our visitors come from. Analytics of this kind may collect information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit, typically using cookies or similar identifiers. It is used in aggregate to improve the site, not to identify you individually.

Advertising

We may display advertising from third-party networks (for example, Google AdSense) to keep the site free. Ad networks may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and in some cases to personalise them based on your browsing. Third-party services

Any analytics or advertising provider we use has its own privacy policy governing the data it processes. When those services are active, we'll name them here and link to their policies. We don't sell your personal information.

• Where a consent prompt is shown, decline non-essential cookies.

Children

ReactionTime is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes — most likely when analytics or advertising is switched on. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
